Diesel Technician

Job Description: Walterboro Ford is looking for all levels of technicians to join our team!! As an automotive and diesel technician you will quickly and efficiently perform routine maintenance and identify the cause of breakdowns and repair them using the most optimal solutions. Position offers paid insurance after 90 days, 5 paid holidays, and one week paid vacation after one year.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards on diesel and non-diesel engines.
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc. to specification on diesel and non-diesel engines.
  • Provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs.
  • Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisers and customers.
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in training sessions in order to stay up to date with changing technology on diesel and non-diesel engines.
  • Inspect and test new vehicles and record findings so that necessary repairs can be made.

Job Requirements and Preferences:
  • As a Automotive and Diesel Technician, you will be experienced and aware of the latest automotive technologies and be a persistent problem solver.
  • It is required that you: Hold a valid driver's license Working knowledge of shop equipment such as diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an automotive technician on diesel and/or non-diesel engines.
  • Must be able to work every other Saturday (alternating) from eight to four.
