2017 Ford Escape

Beaufort Ford Escape

Known for its sporty handling, the Ford Escape has become one of the most popular crossovers on the market. Several key improvements have been made to the 2017 model. Not only does the new Ford Escape flaunt an updated look, but it also offers two new engines. The arrival of new safety technologies makes the Escape an even better family vehicle. Meanwhile, Ford's Intelligent 4WD system provides superior traction in snowy weather.

The 2017 Escape comes standard with the same four-cylinder engine as before. It develops a fulfilling 168 horsepower. A six-speed automatic gearbox sends the power to the front wheels. If you desire the optimum fuel efficiency, step up to the 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine. You can look forward to getting an impressive 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.* With a total output of 245 horsepower and 275 lb.-ft. of torque, the larger 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine transforms the Escape into a hot rod.

When behind the wheel of the new Escape, you will quickly notice its fun-to-drive character. The small crossover's quick steering and balanced handling give it a key advantage over the competition. It is a great alternative to a hatchback.

To refresh the Escape's appearance, Ford installed a new trapezoid grille. The crossover also received new projector headlamps and updated LED taillights. In comparison to last year's model, the new Escape looks slightly wider and noticeably more aerodynamic. Featuring 19-inch black wheels and black headlamp bezels, the new Sport Appearance Package gives the Escape a heavy dose of style. Some of the most stunning paint colors include Lightning Blue, Ruby Red, and Canyon Ridge.

Ford also decided to revamp the Escape's interior. A space-saving electronic switch replaces the old parking brake. A new steering wheel makes it easier for drivers to see the gauge cluster. In terms of interior room, up to five people can travel in comfort. You will also find plenty of cargo space in the back.

A number of convenient features come standard, including a rear-view camera and key-less entry. Satellite radio and a 10-way power driver's seat come equipped on the mid-level SE model. For good reason, KBB chose Ford's updated Sync 3 infotainment as one of its favorite technologies. Not only does the Sync 3 system feature a responsive touch-screen display, but it also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 390-watt Sony sound system gives the Titanium trim an extra fun factor.

Families can now look forward to experiencing an enhanced level of crash protection. A stronger body structure enabled the 2017 Escape to score an excellent five-star safety rating. Several high-tech driving aids are available as well. While the Lane-Keeping Aid helps you to remain focused, adaptive cruise control decreases driver fatigue on long trips.
